What a week!

The week started with a request for bouquets for a photo shoot to promote the new Marriott at the Lancaster Convention Center. What a privilege. The fun thing is that I could be creative.
For one bouquet I used Swartzwalder mini Callas, green mini-Cymbidium orchids and Lily grass. The stems are covered with Lily grass and green wire rather than ribbon. Anita and Sean were married at St. Anthony's Church in Lancaster, with the reception at the Hamilton Ballroom at Wheatland Place. Check The Weibner's blog for pictures.
Sean is from an Irish Catholic family, so it was very important for him to have Bells of Ireland on the altar at the church. The boutts. were small pieces of Bells of Ireland. The centerpieces were Bells in a cube vase with lemon and lime slices. We placed lemons and limes across a bed of lemon leaves on the bridal table and lots of candles. Check Hamilton Ballroom's blog for pictures.

The beautiful cake was made by Rosie Rohrer from Rosie's Creative Cakes

Only 12 days until our little grandson Kole will make his entrance into the world. I'll be posting pictures of course!!

2 Wedding Weekend

We started on Friday with Meredith and Dan's wedding in Mt. Joy at St. Mark's UM Church. It's a beautiful old church with stained glass windows and curved pews. Here are some details. Spray rose petals fill lacey cones in a white pail for the exit photo. Mini bouquets of green Cymbidium Orchids for the Mothers.Loading up the van with the flowers.....................
Bouquets for the Bridesmaids were blue Hydrangea, peach roses, green Orchids and Hypericum.

Bride's bouquet is white roses, white mini Callas with tiny crystals and white Cymbidium Orchids.
Back at the shop, Amy is preparing the Curly Willow branches with Orchids for centerpieces.

Reception decorating for this wedding was so much fun. It's energizing playing 'beat the clock' to glue hundreds of Orchids on branches and Lily grass before the guests arrive. The bridal table had white Orchids and the guest tables had green Orchids.
Another one of Rene's masterpieces.........always a work of art! (Bella Manse)
WEDDING #2
Nicole and Donny
Hamilton Ballroom

Bride's Bouquet, being held by a bridesmaid, has her late grandmothers tennis bracelet and heart pendant attached to her stems. Nicole misses her grandma very much and wanted to take something of hers with her down the aisle. Her bouquet was simply white Dendrobium Orchids.

Bridesmaids carried bouquets of Purple Hydrangea, Alstromeria, Cymbidium Orchids and Carnations. The colors looked beautiful with their periwinkle dresses.

Just a couple reception pics. before my batteries gave out. No cake pictures, but once again, Rene of Bella Manse made a beautiful cake with purple Hydrangeas on the top and layers.

The delicate Smilax garland is a dainty tropical vine. We added orchids all the way across the long Bridal table with lots of green votive candles.

The popular Pilsner Vase with a submersible light and a Blue Bon Dendrobium Orchid submersed inside the vase of water.
**Thanks to Amy and Lynne for making this a successful 2-wedding weekend.
Caterer: Old Greenfield Inn-always a nice staff and the fare looks and smells wonderful.
Next week features 2 weddings and a bridal shower. Yellow....the new hot color!

A Monday Wedding-Christina and Michael

The day began terribly rainy as I loaded the van full of colorful bouquets, and boutts. for a Monday wedding. Thankfully it cleared up in time for Christina and Michael's wedding at the absolutely beautiful Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Columbia. The gothic architecture is breath-taking. I could just picture the nuns of years past in their black and white habits singing as they processed along the huge stone arched- lined side aisles with beautiful stained glass windows. Such a sacred atmosphere. And I'm sure Christina looked something like Maria Von Trapp in her beautiful princess gown as she walked down the very long aisle to her waiting groom.

The bridesmaids wore navy dresses and carried bouquets of Lilies, Roses, Alstromeria, Larkspur, Carnations and Craspedia (Billy Balls). I didn't mean to post this image twice, but can't figure out how to delete it. If anybody knows an easy way, feel free to email me with instructions. Good thing that blogs are informal formats:)
Pew markers did double -duty. Once at the church, then onto the Bridal table at the Eden.
Jonnaysa and I tag-teamed the set-up at the church and reception. Check her blog for pictures of the bride and groom plus other details at:
